Here's how I didn't nurture myself:
1) I was working when I should have been doing something relaxing and fun.
2) I was saying "Yes" to too many things.
2) I was doing work on the women's service even though I had delegated it out.
Here's what happened this morning: I woke up with a tension headache.
It is so important to take time for ourselves, to relax, recharge, renew our batteries. It's equally important to delegate out and follow through. When you are a solo-preneur like myself, you wear many hats. Here are some of the hats I wear: Mom, Caretaker for my dad, Women's Service director and organizer, Hair Colorist, House Cleaner, Lawn Girl, Chef, Executive Director, Marketing Manager, and Promoter.
Here's what I need to work on: Get more people to do some of my jobs!
Here's what I commit to:
1) Hiring a gardener to do Spring clean-up by the end of this week.
2) Getting a firm commitment from my son to mow the lawn by tomorrow.
3) Following through with clear requests to all the women who said they would volunteer to help out with the Women's service.
4) Saying no to whatever feels like it will drain my energy.
5) Saying yes to whatever will recharge my batteries and fuel my energy. (Getting my nails done this Friday!)
How many hats are you wearing? Which hat will you take off this week? What will you say yes to? What will you say no to?
I finally got here! Boy you are a super early bird!! I am flabbergasted. I don't think I've ever been awake anywhere near 5 am unless I were just getting to bed then!
ReplyDeleteReally liked the "Many hats" and "Nurturing the Nurturer" posts - really resonated with me. Thanks for inviting the reflection.
