Here Comes the Sun

Yes! I was awakened early this morning by dappled sun beaming through my window shade. My heart did a little dance as I celebrated the reappearance of my old friend, Mr. Sun. It's been over a week since I saw the light of the sun and felt her radiant heat. I am overcome with renewed appreciation for the star around which the earth orbits!

Squinting from the brightness as my eyes adjust to the sunlight, I am already thinking negative thoughts: It's so hot! I can't see! The bugs are out!

A quick reality check and I am back to center. It is that easy to slip into complain-mode. I make a conscious effort to remain grateful and appreciative as I go through the rest of my work day. 

I will:

1) Express gratitude to my co-workers for the contributions they made this week.

2) Give my daughter a hug when I see her before the Sabbath begins tonight. 

3) Smile at everyone I see. 

4) Learn a few more names here at camp!
